Teacher CV example: bullet points, skills and summary
A teacher CV (or teaching resume) needs to show what and whom you teach, how your pupils progress and what you add to the school beyond lessons. Headteachers look for your subject and age range, your qualification status, and evidence of progress, behaviour management and contribution to school life.

- Taught maths to 5 classes across Years 7–11 (around 140 pupils), with my GCSE groups achieving above their target grades on average.

- Ran weekly intervention sessions for 12 pupils working below expected level; 9 reached their target by the end of the year.
- Introduced a consistent seating and rewards system that reduced behaviour referrals from my classes over two terms.
- Coordinated the school's maths competition entries, with 18 pupils taking part and 3 reaching the regional round.
- Mentored 2 trainee teachers through their placement, including lesson observations and weekly feedback.

Tips for this CV
State subject, age range and status first
Put your subject, key stages or grades and qualified teacher status (or your state certification) in the headline and summary. Schools filter on these before anything else.
Show progress, not just duties
Instead of "taught Year 10", write what changed: results against targets, intervention outcomes, improved attendance. Use school data you are allowed to share, without naming pupils.
Include wider school contribution
Clubs, trips, pastoral roles, curriculum work and mentoring show you will be a good colleague. One bullet or a short "additional responsibilities" line is enough.

FAQ
How long should a teacher CV be?
Two pages is standard for experienced teachers. Newly qualified teachers can fit everything on one page, including teaching placements.
Do I need a personal statement as well as a CV?
Many schools ask for an application form or a supporting statement in addition to the CV. Keep the CV summary short and save the detailed teaching philosophy for that statement.
Should a teacher resume list exam results?
Yes, if you can share them honestly: class results versus targets or previous years are strong evidence. Do not include data that identifies individual pupils.
Can RezuYes adapt my CV to a specific school's advert?
Yes. Paste the job advert and your current CV; the AI emphasises the matching experience using only your facts, and predicts 10 interview questions for that post.
